if u play the french with white try not to exchange the middle pawns and your chances of winning go up by 10 % tyry it and let me know how it works out for you
Not that good
A very good opening for black. He has equalized after 3 moves!! It doesnt happen very often with black!
Very drawish
becareful for blacks reckless queen behavior
Quite ok!
not abad opening but no advantage
I have found that early exchanges are problematic. Every piece is valuable to me, even my pawns.
Only 70 games played, so that statistic is probably pretty inaccurate.
Anyway, I agree that there's not much incentive to trade. Equal space now for both players and blacks bishops are free, which was normally a problem. I see this mainly from people who've never seen the French before or want to avoid the French altogether.
Is anyone else surprised by the success according to the stats of Qdx5? When playing white I HOPE my opponent will do this.
Its pretty sound opening, I rate this has one of my favourites ( providing my opponent co - operates!)
Its good if you want to draw i guess
THIS MOVE RESULTS IN LOSS OF POSITION FOR BOTH PLAYERS
i believe early exchanges leads to a lot of players hoping for the best, or a mistake by your part. just trading out is boring and leads to not much strategy. i play according to my personality and character. i can knock u out like a young tyson but perfer to counter punch like hearns.
why start with an exchange so early. it doesn't even lead to anything. it does no good to exchange like that when nothing comes of it.
It is not a good advice playing white side hoping for a draw.I have won many games as black, when white player was aiming a draw.In my opinion, the most dangerous plans for black are those based on the move "c4", to achieve an isolated "d" pawn structure and double-edged position.
I simply dont understand, why white players play the exchange variation.
With the exchange variation white can not get any advantage as in the main lines, i think the exchange variation is very drawish.
There are lines when white plays c4 that are risky and exciting too, but normaly the position become very drawish i think in the other lines
i usually use the exchange variation!then translate it to queens gambit....
French Defense is one of m favorite.
hmm it doesnt look good...
less advantages to put pressure on enemy
