I am 30 years old, a father of two, a husband of 9 years and a die hard sports junkie. My favorite pastime other than spending time with my family is playing golf. I think golf has the same addiction factor as chess. I shoot in the 80's regularly, but that's with playing 2 or 3 times a month. If I could devote more time to the game, I could be in the 70's.
I have been playing chess since April '07. I took this sudden interest to the game at a later stage in life and have been hooked ever since. There is something about stepping onto the ultimate battlefield of the mind that keeps me coming back, win or lose. In chess, as in war, the strong manipulate and the weak attempt to defend against it. Chess gives you an oppurtunity to be creative and express yourself.
I usually open with e4 and prefer to be a tactical/strategic player. My favorite players are Kasparov, Fischer, Capablanca, and Vishy.
