Is it a conspiracy theory, the truth or just a coincidence? I think I will leave that up to you to decide. It is said that the game we've come to know and love was a carefully reconstruction of the game whose orgins date back to India and littered with symbology of the Illuminati.

Why would the Illuminati go through such efforts over a mere a game? Well that question is easy to answer.

As with all Illuminati dealings, metaphores rule and it is their way of letting the world know that they are indeed present. The Illuminati pride themselves as being free thinkers of the highest regards and the ability to manipulate things into serving a common purpose. Even if you don't openingly admit it, when you think of Chess don't you think of it as an intellectual game? No? Have you never refered to one's style of play as brilliant, genius or highly craftful?

The first metaphore is the board itself. The classic black and white checkered style is coincidal with majority of every Grand Lodge of modern day freemasonry, the floor taking the place of the board. And then there's the title Grandmaster. The highest honor given to a Chess player is also the highest given amongst Lodge.

Conspiracy theory, the truth or just coincidence?

Another is the cross upon the King's crown. The Knights Templar insignia was that of the cross and their purpose was the protection of their high nobility, in this case meaning the pope. For what purpose is the cross on the King. Is the cross not a symbol God, and is not God a symbol of protection? Along with the obvious Knight, the egyption hat of the Bishop and even the Rook all hold ties to the Illuminati's symbology.

Is our game indeed a metaphore brought along by the Illuminati??? Like I said in the beginning, I will let you decide.

OK, I decide no.

Wow, that was easy.

The board was originally all white, black was added to provide contrast, to make playing easier.

"Another is the cross" Modern chess, made in Spain. Spanish in 1500's = devout christians. Modern boards made in England in 1850's, again christians.

good joke though

You ever read Robert Anton Wilson?   "Interesting" stuff, for sure, wonder what that guy (and the Co-writer) were smoking??

PS: what about Fischer who died at 64???....64 squares on the board, hmmmm..... "The Number 64"....its everywhere!!

don't be so easy to decide.

things in the world are known to have more than one meaning and more than one origin. its all about which side of the board ( no pun ) you're looking from

The earlier symbols of the Illuminati and the Rosacrucians -- both obscure spinoffs from the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry -- were more likely involved with explaining the movements of heavenly bodies than chess pieces.  I'll refer you to a somewhat esoteric book from the guild of Freemasonry entitled, 'The Cannon'.

Actually the Illuminati is not a spin off. They were each their own entity. When the Illuminati was ran out of the Vatican, it was with the Freemasons that they found refuge from. Over time the Illuminati injected their members into the high ranking positions of the Freemasons, that is where the link started between the two.

And everyone knows that the Illuminati consisted of scientists, artists and those concerned with the solar system, that's not what I was saying when it came to the chess metaphore.

I'm not one of those people stuck on conspiracy theories or anything, I just have a fasicination with chess and the Illuminati. So when I noticed those two things coincided somewhat, I took an interest to it.
