Weird Enough?

Weird positions call for unusual moves! That's probably what Anand would tell you in this victory where he leaves en prise, among other things, his queen and bishop. By the way, this is my last article before I head off to Texas for a much-needed vacation :)

How do you spell a-m-a-z-i-n-g?  I guess Lautier wanted to call chess 9-1-1!

I was there, at Biel, in 1997. Except for Kasparov and Karpov, the whole world of chess was congregated in that one place. My teacher qualified and was playing.

Wow! I had never seen this game before, and I play this variation. I would not have predicted many of these moves, and had no idea what was going on, even at the end. Very Weird indeed!

Can we call it, inviting complexties so as to solve it?

Remarkable one.  I would never think of putting my pieces in jeopardy and then strategise a victory.

In fact, my mind would stop working when I see such a threat to my Rook, Queen...

The distinguishing mark of a GM.  Hmmmmm.

This kind of position is very rare in chess! It's really unusual! Anand is really remarkable!

Great skills, it takes a few coffee cups to think rational.
