You're right, my mistake.  Still, mate in three is not possible.Smile

Kb6 is not possible after Nc7+ as Nc4 also covers b6. However Ka4 is not the only move after Nc7+. You need a reply to Kb4 which does not permit mate in three or four I think!

You're missing something.  The Knight on d5 controlles b6.  Nc7+ Kb6, now the black King has escaped the trap.  Mate in three is not possible.

It is mate in 3 with Nc7+ Ka4 Bc2+ Kb4 Nxa6#
