Learning - part 1 - Openings

Submitted by linus9113 on Sun, 11/09/2008 at 9:18am.

You begginers must learn about everything for becoming no longer a begginer, but better than that, you can become a master! A Grandmaster! But, just because you get good like that doesn't mean you have to stop learning. Learning never ends. Here is a couple of good things for you to look at.

1. Openings

Here is your first opening you will like alot.

Kings pawn - Now, here's a trick you can use with this ''King's pawn'' Opening.

The first move of these moves will be the Kings pawn. after that will be the trick.

you will like that.

You now will want to use this alot, soon i'll come back with another opening which you begginers will advance to, ok?

cya!

Linus i concede that you are teaching them beginner stuff, but in the long run your hurting them more than helping them by teaching them tricks that no one is going to fall for except people below 1000 rating. As for playing me ill challenge u

.............. Vibhab, just because I'm showing begginers BEGGINER stuff doesn't mean I'm a begginer and I'm bad. Play me Vibhab if I suck so much, and I'll prove you wrong. You will lose badly man. If I sucked that much and I beat you then you would suck more than you would have to admit that you suck more than you said I sucked. Thats really mean to me. I don't feel so happy. Cry

Linus your line is weak and lets black off the hook and you know it. Your just making excuses to verify your line. You know after white plays Qe2 interposing the check, white comes out ahead. Your just an amateur. Go learn some real chess instead of cheap little opening tricks that won't work.

P.S. The only way they will work is if you play people below 1000 rating. Which probaly explains why you suck so bad.

OMFG 5.Qe2 is interposing the check. Your line lets black consolidate like I'm saying over and over again. Besides who would be dumb enough to play f6. If your trying to teach beginners something, teach them basic opening principles instead of cheap little tricks that majority of players wont play anyway.

Qe2 and then you have better position and development. In your line you let black consolidate with d6 and Nc6

If he doesnt take it then white just retreats back to Nf3 winning a pawn.

"1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 f6 and subsequent Nxe5 is premature..coz the queen piece alone cannot mate the king. better is Bc4" -Revs63

Nxe5 is not premature as the following analysis shows.

actually, then black will do 3... Ne7 4. Nc3 c6 5.d4 exd4 6. Qxd4

this is better than just a pawn, because now white has developed most of his pieces, and black, wow... barely anything...

Now you see, now this is a great way for development for white, and d6 would just waste a move because of 4...c6 which is planning d5.

EDIT: also, planning b5 would also be a waste because of Bxg8 Rxg8, also not letting black castle on the kingside.

Yeah, I think teaching 3. Bc4? in that sequence isn't right.  Take the tactic 3. Nxe5! When you can!

1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 f6 3. Nxe5 is better. You get a attack faster then the variation linus showed because what if instead of 3. ...c6 black played 3. ...d6. Then the e5 pawn would be very solid. Also i think beginners would be better of learning tactics and if they do learn openings they should not learn tricks. They should instead learn basics of opening strategy because what if black played a better move like 2. Nc6.
