7 Quick Chess.com Tips!

Submitted by webmaster on Tue, 06/12/2007 at 12:09pm.

Thank you all for your support as Chess.com gets off the ground!

I have put together a list of tips that will help you get the most out of Chess.com:

#1 Contribute - Do you have something to share? A bit of chess knowledge? A great game you played? Post your article (informational posts that are for everyone), news (happening or event), or blog post (your own personal whatever-you-want place) now!

#2 Points - Every time you contribute to Chess.com (a comment, an article, a blog post, etc) you get points. Those points help others know how active you are on the site and will eventually help you build a complete chess reputation here on the site (which will help you find quality opponents to play against, etc).

#3 Ratings - You can tell others what you think of the articles and other content on Chess.com by rating it! Just rollover the rating stars on the article, etc you want to rate and then click how many stars you think it deserves! (see image below)

#4 Your Profile - Let others know who you are, where you are from, and maybe even what you look like by adding your info. Just go here: http://www.chess.com/home/edit_profile.html

#5 Your Account Settings - Change your important account settings in your account control panel! Here you can change your password, your privacy settings, if you want to block someone, when you want to be notified by Chess.com, etc.

#6 Suggestions - There is a "Suggestions" link at the top of every page. Think of something you want to see on the site, then let us know! [aside from the ability to PLAY - we know and we're working on it ;) ]

#7 Email - Everyone gets a FREE ________@chess.com email address! You can signup on your home page. There is no better email in the world for someone who loves chess. And, the email interface is in many ways better than other free email servers!

That's it for now! Let me know if you have any other tips, suggestions, or questions!
